A New Council is Born
On Sunday March 2nd, an exemplification ceremony was held at St. Michael’s Church Waterloo for the new St. Michael’s Council. It presents the lessons of Charity, Unity and Fraternity in a more clear and convincing way. All three degrees were conferred in a single exemplification ceremony. The Degree Team included Father Pawel Jamroz Pastor, Brian Smith and Jerome Freiburger from St. Michaels Council, Patrick Olinski and Gary Megaffin from Council 1504.
Father Michael McGivney sought to establish a fraternal Order whose members live the Christian virtues. He sought to unite members in their Catholic identity as practical Catholics who aspire to live in accordance with the precepts of, and who are in good standing in, the Catholic Church. His vision established our organization of local councils whose members sought to strengthen their faith, to serve the needs of others, and to protect their families through our insurance program.
The future of the Order depends upon growth, and the new combined ceremony removes the barriers of secrecy and commitment of time that inhibited many from joining our ranks. It also eliminates redundancies and presents the lessons of charity, unity and fraternity in a more clear and convincing way.
